The UUMA is currently in the midst of a revision of the Guidelines and Code of Professional Practice. Chapters have been asked to review the proposed changes and send comments to the Guidelines Revision Committee. Below are the documents (PDF) available to assist UUMA Members and Chapters in the study process. For more information on the revision contact the Guidelines Revision Committee.

Berry Street Essay Posted

Christine Robinson's 2008 essay, "Imagineering Soul," delivered at the Berry Street Conference at the end of Ministry Days in June has now been posted to the Berry Street web site. You can access it directly using this link: http://www.uuma.org/BerryStreet/Essays/BSE2008.htm or, as always, you can access the Berry Street site under the "Resources" tab on the uuma.orgweb site.

Next year's essayist will be Paul Razor.

Sept. 5: CENTER Online Survey Posted

Dear UUMA Colleagues,

The CENTER Committee is actively engaged in a project to improve professional development opportunities for UU ministers throughout their career. UUA president Bill Sinkford announced in Fort Lauderdale that a portion of the proceeds from the Association Sunday offering in October 2008 will be allocated to promote excellence in ministry. A significant part of this effort involves finding out what kinds of continuing education experiences our colleagues have had in the past and what types of programs would be most helpful in the future.

Unitarian Universalists Respond to Knoxville Tragedy

(Issued from the Unitarian Universalist Association: July 28 - 10:15 PM)

In the wake of the tragic shootings on July 27, 2008 which resulted in two deaths and injuries to six others, Unitarian Universalists are rallying to offer ministry and support to the affected members of the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church and the Westside Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.

UUMA Office Summer Hours/Schedule

Dear UUMA Members and Friends,

Over the summer months the UUMA general business hours will be 9-4 EST.  

The UUMA Administrator will be on vacation sporadically and as a result return times on emails or phone calls may be longer than normal. 

The Administrator will not be available:

  • July 1-4, 2008
  • July 14-16, 2008
  • Additional dates may be added.
