Deadline Reminders

  • Registration Rates Increase June 1: If you have been waiting to register, now is a great time to get it done. Rates will increase on Thursday, June 1st. If you are attending onsite register by June 1 to be included in the lunch on Wednesday.
  • Scholarships: Our final scholarship deadline has been extended to 9am ET on Friday, May 12. Apply here
  • Snacks: If you are planning on attending virtually and wish to receive a snack box, make sure you register for virtual attendance by Monday, May 15th. After May 15th we will ordering the boxes and will not be able to include new registrants. 
  • Baseball Tickets: We are excited to be coordinating a UUMA outing to a baseball game on Tuesday, June 20th. If you haven’t already bought a ticket, the deadline to buy one is May 15th. You can purchase one here or through your registration
  • Singers of the Living Tradition: This week we sent an email to all folks who indicated they planned to sing in the choir. The Singers of the Living Tradition welcome all religious professionals and their partners and spouses. If you know of someone who would like to participate who has not received this email please forward and ask them to contact Hannah Franco-Isaacs to be added to the distribution list.

My Little Pony Was Right: Reflections on Fascisms Without and Within

Rev. Cecilia Kingman

The Rev. Cecilia Kingman has been studying authoritarian systems for most of her life, and is currently doing doctoral work on the responses of faith communities to fascist and totalitarian regimes. After the collapse of the communist dictatorship in Romania, she spent two decades working with the Unitarians of Transylvania to strengthen civil society and support sustainable agricultural and community development. Cecilia is a 2003 graduate of Starr King School for the Ministry, and has served churches in Oregon and Washington. The mother of four children, Cecilia lives with her family in the Seattle area and her favorite My Little Pony is either Rarity or Maud.
