Information about Supreme Court cases and the LGBTQI+ Community

This term, there are multiple cases before the Supreme Court that could have powerful implications for the LGBTQI+ community, including several developments in the last few weeks on passports for trans and nonbinary people and marriage equality. This session led by Sam Ames, Esq., MTS will discuss the immediate and potential impacts of these most recent actions, what the law says and how it could change, and how the decisions in the months to come may impact trans people, their families, their congregations, and their communities.

The Woodlands: A New Virtual Gathering for Trans Community Care

Rev. Jami Yandle has launched The Woodlands, a new all-ages virtual pastoral care program sponsored by the UUA for trans people and their families. Each monthly 90-minute gathering offers a shared message and grounding ritual, followed by breakout rooms for trans children, youth, adults, and parents/caregivers—each co-facilitated by chaplains and centered on connection, support, and shared reflection.
The next session will take place Sunday, December 7th at 4:00pm EST / 3:00pm CST / 2:00pm MST / 1:00pm PST. This pilot season runs through May 2026, and registration is open now for anyone seeking grace, growth, and community.

Transgender Day of Remembrance Services: Join us on November 20th for our Transgender Day of Remembrance service.

This year has been especially difficult for our trans and nonbinary communities. We’re holding this observance for trans people, by trans people — a sacred space for remembrance, grief, and connection within our own community. In recognition of the deep need for care and sanctuary this year, the service will remain open for trans and non-binary kin. Opportunities for allies to honor Trans Day of Remembrance will be offered through other UUA departments.

Two service times are available: 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM EST. More information can be found here (scroll down to find the info about the services)
