In Memory of Johanna Boeke (1937-2026)
We offer our condolences to the family and colleagues of the Rev. Johanna “Jopie” Boeke, who died on June 28, 2026, at the age of 88.
Jopie is survived by her daughters, Elinore Boeke (Jeff Ludwig) and Diana Boeke (Amir Abdelmalek); her grandchildren, Zachary Ludwig, Juliana Ludwig, and Alexander Ludwig; and her sister-in-law, Ria Leoni Baarslag. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Richard F. Boeke, and her brother, Theodoor Baarslag.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Goodwin House Alexandria, 4800 Fillmore Ave, Alexandria, VA 22311. The service will also be livestreamed via Zoom.
