Caucus Spaces, Spiritual Practices,
and Community Care Time
During Ministry Days we will have many opportunities for community care, spiritual practice and caucus breakout spaces. The full schedule is available here.
Caucus Spaces: We perceive that some of the current challenges we are facing with the rise of fascism are specific to our social locations, and we want to offer space that attends to that and acknowledges it. Also, colleagues with multiple marginalized identities have requested a space that makes room for that and for collegiality across marginalized identities. And finally, we are living into our commitment to do better when we know better, and making space for fat colleagues to also build and strengthen community. Wherever it says caucus spaces there will be caucus space available for BIPOC colleagues, Disabled colleagues, Fat colleagues, colleagues who hold Intersectional Identities, and Trans/Non-Binary colleagues. Here is a handy chart to help you navigate what is happening where:
| Group | Day and Time | Onsite or Virtual | Type of Facilitation |
| Caucus Spaces | Open anytime Ministry Days spaces are open | Onsite | no facilitation, traditionally used as drop-in space; each group will self-organize as needed |
| Caucus Spaces | Monday 8:30 – 9:30pm; Tuesday 6 – 7pm; Wednesday 12:30 – 1:15 pm | Virtual (Zoom Events) | tech hosts available in main room, each caucus will be co-created by participants |
| Community Care Program Track: caucuses for BIPOC, Trans/NB, disabled and fat colleagues | Two sessions Tuesday afternoon | Onsite and Virtual (Zoom Events) | facilitated by colleagues with pre-planned content |

Collegial Connections:
Best Practices and Avoiding Pitfalls When a Colleague Attends Your Congregation This workshop will help congregational ministers understand the guidelines, best practices, and potential benefits and pitfalls when ministers who live in your community wish to participate in your church. We’ll focus on retirees who live in your area as well as former and emerita/us/x ministers.
Wayne Arnason and Christine Robinson both retired ministers, have have been studying this topic as a part of the Retired Minister’s UUMA chapter for the past year.
