When it comes to collegiality, chapters have competition now. That was one of the messages that I shared during our recent Chapter Leaders calls.
This is why I am a member of the UUMA. In those moments of struggle, I know that I have colleagues surrounding me. People with whom I can share my burdens and help bring me back to my call. Ministry can be challenging. We need one another to sustain this work.
Being the first day of the UUMA’s Ministry Days, I worked hard AND was loved up! Feeling so deeply grateful to work for such a loving and supportive group of people. What a delight and surprise to be honored at the opening Milestones Worship … 20 years!!!
More than 130 colleagues joined together for a Collegial Conversation on Current Trends in Parish Ministry last week. Prior to the gathering, participants watched a video (you can access the pre-recorded video here) which included data and reflections about trends in ministerial formation, search and settlement, finances, family ministry and more. During the live session (access the recording of the collegial conversation here), we reviewed preliminary results of the FACT survey many of you completed this spring.
This week we sent out a number of emails with important information. As it is that one click often leads to 27 or so side tracks, I wanted to take this opportunity to lift up a few items to pay attention to.
As part of my final project for class this semester, I explored the complexity of our hymnody and the need to contextualize hymns within our current cultural understandings.

Enduring Ministries
I’m grateful and excited to let you know that we are continuing to make meaningful changes to improve the quality and consistency of our ministry of Good Offices. We have about a dozen colleagues who have been selected to be part of our new Good Offices Contract/Call Negotiation Team.
