Collegial Care in Times of Crisis

February 15, 2024

Dear Colleagues,

During the quarantine phase of the Covid-19 pandemic we created a Sustainability Fund in order to help care for our community.  Through the ensuing years, and through the generosity of our members, we have been able to extend the fund. The current fund provides support to UUMA members identifying as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, Trans/Non-Binary and Disabled members, community ministers, members who are unemployed or underemployed, or members who do not have access to professional development funds.

Because we need one another, we are extending access to the fund to make financial resources available to support care for members of the UUMA who are most personally impacted by the devastating crisis in Palestine and Israel.

If you need funds in order to access therapy, spiritual direction, somatic practices, massage or other healing modalities to help sustain you in your ministry at this time, please complete our simple application.  And, if you have financial resources you can share, either individually or from any professional development funds you may have, please donate now. Giving what we can and receiving as we need is one way we can help promote a community of care in the UUMA.

In addition, if you have personal experience or know of therapists, spiritual directors, somatic practitioners or other healers you believe have the capacity and skill for working with those most impacted by the crisis in Palestine and Israel, we invite you to complete this form to submit their names, locations, modalities and contact information so we might create a member sourced list for our collective benefit.

In faith,

Melissa, Darrick, and Janette
