Something For the Moment

Ministry Days: Thank you very much to every single person who helped create a meaningful and memorable Ministry Days experience including our wonderful Board of Trustees, temporary and permanent staff, Covenant, Care and Tech Teams, worship, music, learning track, caucus, spiritual practice, social events and collegial conversation leaders, online hosts, AV Team, the UUA senior staff, and all who participated in our gathering.  You are the ones who made Ministry Days so wonderful!

We are pleased to announce that the collections at our three worship services totaled over $17,000, which will assist in the support of International Ministerial Associations ($4794), UUMA Scholarship & Sustainability Funds ($4424) and the UUA’s Living Tradition Fund ($8411).  If you would like to give to one, or all, of the collections you can do so here

If you were not able to join us, please consider subscribing to the Zoom Event now to receive immediate access to the recorded programming (which remains available to those who were registered to attend).  Otherwise, you can look  forward to all recordings being posted to our Ministry Days archive in fall 2025.

Finally, a public health announcement for those who attended on site – we have had some reports of members who attended on site testing positive for COVID-19 upon returning home.

Institute for the Learning Ministry: We are excited to announce much more information about our program offerings for the Institute including learning track options and worship leadership which will include our keynote speaker and featured presenter, Kai Cheng Thom.  Thank you so much to all of the colleagues who applied to share your gifts and talents with our collegial community. We are grateful.

Please note that registration rates increase on July 16.  Register for the Institute by July 15 and you will not only save money but be guaranteed a spot in your choice of learning track (we’ll send information about how to choose your track later in July).  Additionally you will be entered into a drawing to win one of many fabulous prizes – including a free registration, airfare, or housing!

If you are waiting for a new fiscal year to begin on July 1 but you still have a small amount of funds you wish to dedicate to the Institute, we have reopened the deposit option.  Click here to put down a deposit of $100, $250 or $500. Those who choose this option will receive a code the first week of July and must register by July 15 to ensure the early registration rate.

If you are thinking about applying for UUA Continuing Education Funds, please note that the next deadline to apply is July 1.  Visit the UUA’s site for more information about that funding and to access the online application. Additionally, UUMA Scholarships are available.  The deadline for early applications has been extended to June 30.  Click here if you would like to apply (the mid-registration scholarship deadline is September 15)

Please remember, if you have one or more religious professional partners in ministry, you are invited to consider coming to the Institute as a team.  Thanks to generous support from the UU Funding Program,  we are able to offer dedicated scholarships for shared ministry teams.

Job Opportunities

The UUMA is hiring!  We are receiving applications for all openings on a rolling basis so please help us spread the word.  Visit our Job Opportunities page to learn more, find job descriptions and time lines.

  • Full Time Administrator: If you missed the announcement at Ministry Days, our faithful Program Administrator Jan Taddeo is leaving the UUMA to take on the role of full-time “GranJan” to her newly born grandchild River. We have shifted some of our administrative responsibilities and are seeking a full time administrator to join Hannah Franco-Isaacs and Janette Lallier on the UUMA Admin Team.

  • Institute Music Director: We are seeking a UU Music Professional to partner with our Institute worship leaders to create an outstanding and varied worship experience for the soothing of souls and the inspiration of our varied ministries.

  • Temporary Sabbatical Coverage: The UUMA is seeking some temporary administrative support to help support the transitions around Jan’s departure and Hannah’s Sabbatical. See the Job Opportunity Page for more details.

Updates and Reminders

UUMA Endorsement: The UUMA has endorsed the In Opposition to War statement released by DRUUMM and BLUU.  We are grateful for the opportunity to amplify and uplift this important values centered message.  Additional organizational endorsers are invited until Friday, June 27 at 5pm PT.

Final Membership Prepay & Auto Renewal: Reminder that all auto renewals will be processed on July 1. If you are enrolled in the auto renewal program please visit the member center and ensure your Salary & Housing level and Credit Card information are correct. If you are seeking to pay your dues before June 30 please email support@uuma.org and someone on staff will send you an invoice as we can.

Find-A-Minister:  The newly launched Find-A-Minister (beta) tool helps match the skills of our members with the needs of visitors to our website (congregations looking for pulpit supply, lay folk, wedding couples, etc., in addition to our members themselves). We anticipate this tool will also help in our mentor and coaching programs. To make this beta year a success we need your help! When you renew you will be asked to review, and update your profiles. Many new profile fields, including an opt-in box for Find-A-Minister, have been created. For those of you serving as a mentor or providing fee-for-service ministries, please select to opt-in to being listed in the database. While in beta, this tool will be available to members only as we test and refine before launching to the greater UU community.

Formation Updates

Last call for the summer 2025 UU Wellspring Love at the Center – program for folks in formation!  Gatherings start on Sunday, July 6 and continue through August 31 (with a break on July 27).  Register NOW and MFN members pay only $50 for this $600 spiritual exploration of UU Values and Covenants (with love at the center!) in a nurturing space to share personal identities and experiences drawing from a theologically grounded, small group ministry based in deep listening, spiritual practice, spiritual companionship/direction.

As conversations on Widening the Path of UU ministry carry forth, the Ministerial Formation Network is offering a three session Discernment Summer Series.  Registration is open to all UUMA members AND religious professionals who are not yet part of the UUMA.  This program will offer tools for exploring personal and community callings.   UUMA members can log on to register: HERE and non-UUMA members can email Favreault@uuma.org to receive zoom links.
